Team Profile: Jae Jung

What do you do at NetSource Technologies, and how long have you worked here?
I am just starting out here at NetSource as a Programming intern.

Do you have any nicknames?
Jay, Jae, J… Yes, they all sound the same.

May 22nd

Hometown / Where have you lived?
Seoul, South Korea. Pembroke Pines, FL. Currently in Gainesville, FL.

What is your favorite part of your job?
When something I programmed works the way I envisioned.

When did you become interested in computers and technology?
The first time I laid my hands on a PC with Intel486. I broke it within the first ten minutes and tried to fix it on my own.

What piece of technology could you not live without?
The AC.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
Watch movies, spend time with my girlfriend

Do you have any hobbies?
Cartooning, Gaming, Sometimes fishing and traveling.

What are your top three moments in your life so far?
Spending time with father.
Coming back to states after Army.
Acceptance to UF.

What is your favorite color?
Green

What is your favorite food / drink?
Pasta

What is your favorite musician or type of music?
I try to keep an open mind about the type of music I listen to, as long as it doesn’t irritate my ears.

What is your favorite sport? Do you have a favorite team?
Soccer, Manchester United. I can’t play soccer but I enjoy watching.

What’s your favorite TV show?
South Park

What are your favorite movies?
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and old Jackie Chan movies.

What are your favorite books / magazines?
Empire of Ants, Les Thanatonautes by Bernard Werber

Gizmodo.com, for all tech related news

Tell us about your family!
My family used to live in South Florida until I graduated high school. I have a little sister that currently attends UF and will be graduating next Spring. My mother moved to South Korea for retirement.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Switzerland for all their precious chocolates…

If you couldn’t be a Programmer anymore, what career would you pursue?
Really hungry artist. I say hungry because all famous artists had  tragic lives.

If  you could choose to have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleport, I will never have to go through the airport security again or buy another car.

How do you think technology and/or web design will change in the next 10-20 years?
We will be so heavily reliant on technology that no one can drive without navigation or write without auto-spell check. Wait… I think that’s already happening.

What tips would you give to a business that is just starting out with their first website?
Make sure it works and it’s easily accessible.
