Team Profile: Joseph Kelly

What do you do at NetSource Technologies, and how long have you worked here?
I am a programmer, and this is my third week on staff.

March 26th, Aries

Hometown / Where have you lived?
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I went to school in Pittsburgh (University of Pittsburgh) and now I live here, in Ocala, Florida.

When did you become interested in creating websites?
I became interested in creating websites when I was in high school, editing my MySpace layouts. Everyone in school was envious of my MySpace. My desire to learn more grew from that.

What is your favorite part of creating a new website?
My favorite part of creating a new website is utilizing a newly learned technology/language.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is executing newly learned skills, and (finally getting) it working properly.

When did you become interested in computers and technology?
I have been interested in computers and technology for as long as I can remember. I was always tinkering with something.

What piece of technology could you not live without?
I couldn’t live without internet. I wouldn’t be able to learn new things and keep in touch with people if I didn’t have access to it.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
Besides relaxing, I like to play tennis, watch movies and play video games.

Do you have any hobbies?
My hobbies are photography, tennis, swimming, and I’ve recently started playing golf.

What are your top three moments in your life so far?
My top 3 moments in life would have to be graduating college (University of Pittsburgh), Moving into my first apartment, and starting my career here at NetSource Technologies

What is your favorite color?
Green

What is your favorite food / drink?
My favorite food would have to be Polish Boy (Polish is a sausage in a hot dog bun and it has french fries, cole slaw and barbeque sauce on top of it. I’ve only seen this combo in Cleveland, Oh) .

What is your favorite musician or type of music?
My favorite musician right now is Gotye, and I haven’t quite put a finger on my favorite type of music but for the most part I like rap.

What is your favorite sport? Do you have a favorite team?
My favorite sport to watch is Basketball, and my favorite team is OKC Thunder.

What are your favorite TV shows?
White Collar is my favorite show.

What are your favorite movies?
Reservoir Dogs and The Darjeeling Limited are my favorite movies

What are your favorite books / magazines?
.NET and GQ are my favorite magazines

What are your favorite websites or blogs?
Valetmag.com is my favorite blog right now

Twitter or Facebook? (and why)
Eh, neither but I’ll go with Facebook , because I have more family members that I can stay in touch with.

Tell us about your family!
I have one younger sister, named Kayla, who attends Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio.

Do you have any pets?
No, although I would like to have a dog someday.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would visit as much of Europe as I could

If you couldn’t be a Programmer anymore, what career would you pursue?
I would pursue a career in photography

If you could choose to have any superpower, what would it be?
I would choose the power to fly, so I can go anywhere I would like with ease.

How do you think technology and/or web design will change in the next 10-20 years?
I think technology is going to get extremely advanced within the next decade or so. I think there are going to be some great innovations for mobile devices and mobile web that will make a huge change in the web developing world.

What tips would you give to a business that is just starting out with their first website?
Communication is key. Make sure everyone involved understands what is expected.
