First, all iContact users agree to a code of conduct that includes rules for how you acquire the e-mail addresses that you use, the types of e-mail you send, and how you let the people you send to unsubscribe from your e-mails. All emails are also tested for delivery compliance with SpamCheck assistance, allowing you to see and fix content in your subject or message that is likely to get your e-mail flagged as SPAM because of content. Next, iContact has "White List" agreements with all of the major ISPs and many of the major SPAM blacklist databases; that meanS that even if another iContact customer violates the SPAM rules, your e-mails won't be blocked because of it. Finally, iContact has a pretty strict policy against senders that send e-mails that the end recipient marks as SPAM. Once a certain number of your recipients flag an e-mail from you as SPAM, you are given a warning and put on probation. If you violate the probation, your account is cancelled automatically. While it seems harsh, dealing severely with those that push the envelope makes it easier for legitimate senders to get their mail delivered.
