Greg Petry, founder and President of NetSource Technologies and NetSource Media, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, due to complications following surgery.

Greg was a beloved family man and businessman who began his business career at Gear and Wheel, working for his dad, Wray Petry. He worked as a regional manager, overseeing marketing and technology, and handling day-to-day operations for four stores. Under Greg’s guidance, sales grew from less than half a million per year to nearly 10 million.

In 1995, Greg founded NetSource, a digital marketing agency with a mission to help other business owners leverage technology to grow their business online. Applying what he learned in the heavy-duty parts business, he created a successful company known for providing small-to mid-size businesses with affordable marketing options.

Today, NetSource serves a wide variety of industries, including online retailers, builders and contractors, and non-passenger vehicle markets. NetSource services a large number of dealerships in the RV, Trailer, Powersports, and Marine industries, providing website and digital marketing services, in addition to hosting popular classified websites and

NetSource will remain a family-owned business, with Greg’s wife, Ginger, continuing as owner. The Petry family has named Melissa Thrush, a long-time employee and trusted advisor to Greg, as CEO.

“Greg was unbelievably proud of what he built here and ensured that we had a strong plan for the future of the business,” Ginger Petry, Greg’s wife, said. “We are more than confident in Melissa’s ability to continue leading NetSource with the same passion and drive as Greg.”

With a background in advertising, Melissa joined the NetSource sales team in 2010 and has been serving as the Director of Operations since 2018. In her 14 years at NetSource, Melissa has serviced and engaged with most of the company’s clients and provided leadership for sales, development, and marketing teams.

“I’m honored to work alongside the Petry family to continue Greg’s vision for this business. NetSource is a close-knit company, so this is a great loss for us, but we are extremely thankful he prioritized mentorship and training so we can be confident in the company’s continued success,” Melissa said. “Greg was my boss for nearly fourteen years, but I also considered him a friend and believe most people who knew him from the business world felt that way.”

Greg’s leadership created a strong culture that has always prioritized superior customer service and connection with clients. Because of this, NetSource is proud to have so many long-tenured employees, with nearly 25 percent of employees having been with the company for over two decades.

“Greg’s love for people, technology and marketing were evident in how he ran the company. He knew that if we provided great customer service and a return on investment to clients, the rest would fall in line,” Melissa added. “He created a clear, solid business plan and knew that building a team of experts to execute his vision was crucial. This is the reason NetSource can keep moving forward, providing powerful solutions and the same amazing customer service we are known for.”
